YMUNC IR Seminar 2017

Date: August 11th-16th, 2017

Location: Yale Center Beijing

The YMUN China International Relations Seminar is a six-day immersive learning experience that offers delegates the opportunity to deepen their understanding of international relations and the world around them. The seminar is taught by Yale students and is open to any high school student wishing to learn more about international relations. A model United Nations track will also be offered for students wanting to improve their performance in model United Nations conferences.  Students of all skill levels and backgrounds are welcome. The seminar will consist of directed learning sessions and smaller, discussion-based classes that will be separated by interest and skill level as well as exciting group outings and activities. At the seminar, delegates will learn directly from Yale students about current international crises and struggles at the heart of the mission of the United Nations, such as confronting global terrorism, nuclear proliferation, environmental catastrophe, maritime disputes in East Asia, and discrimination against women. The seminar will also feature one-on-one workshops, electives, and simulations. In past years, students have solved some of the world’s most challenging problems including zombie attacks, a global shortage of ice cream, and the resurgence of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
